What is XAUUSD?

XAUUSD is the ticker for spot Gold quoted against the US dollar. XAU is the ISO code for one troy ounce of Gold. When you see XAUUSD at 2,368.50, one ounce of Gold is priced at 2,368.50 US dollars. Because the pair is dollar-denominated, US dollar strength is one of the strongest short-term drivers of the price.

We map higher-timeframe structure on Gold before the session, mark the levels where price is likely to react, and wait for intraday confirmation. Do signals guarantee profits?

Accepted Answer

No. No signal provider can guarantee profits, and any that claims to should be avoided. Gold is a volatile instrument and losing trades are a normal, expected part of the process. We publish losses alongside wins for exactly this reason.

What risk management should I use?

Most traders following signals use a fixed percentage of account equity per trade — commonly between 0.5% and 1%. Position size is then calculated from the distance between entry and stop loss, not from a fixed lot size. On Gold, where a 6-dollar stop and a 20-dollar stop are both normal, fixed lot sizing produces wildly inconsistent risk.

We generally avoid entering positions in the minutes immediately before CPI, NFP or FOMC because spreads widen and stops become unreliable. We do trade the structure that forms after the release, once the initial spike has resolved.

Any regulated broker offering spot Gold with competitive spreads, reliable execution during news, and clear overnight financing terms. Check the typical XAUUSD spread during the New York session rather than the advertised minimum spread.
