XAUUSD price

4,132.70

Market bias

Bearish

Invalidation

A sustained H1 candle close above 4,155

Gold has retraced -1.16% during the Asian session, failing to sustain momentum above the session open of 4,143.40. Sellers stepped in at the 4,149.80 high, pushing the asset near its session low of 4,124.00 ahead of the London open. The intraday base case favours selling rallies up to structural resistance as momentum remains corrective.

Key support levels

  • 4,124.00 — Daily Session Low and initial liquidity pool.
  • 4,115.50 — H4 structural swing low and key support level.
  • 4,102.00 — Psychological support and daily ascending trendline confluence.

Key resistance levels

  • 4,143.40 — Session Open and critical intraday pivot.
  • 4,149.80 — Session High and immediate structural supply.
  • 4,162.00 — Previous H4 support-turned-resistance block.

Potential buy zones

  • 4,115.50 to 4,118.00 zone — trigger on a clear H1 bullish reversal structure, targeting 4,132.70 and 4,143.40.

Potential sell zones

  • 4,143.40 to 4,149.80 zone — trigger on an M15 bearish engulfing candle or liquidity sweep of the session high, targeting 4,124.00.

Economic events

  • 12:30 UTC — US Retail Sales MoM (high impact, direct driver for USD and Gold)
  • 18:00 UTC — FOMC Meeting Minutes (high impact, critical for yield expectations)

US dollar impact

The US dollar index has rebounded off its intraday lows, exerting pressure on non-yielding metals. If the greenback maintains its upward trajectory into the European session, Gold will likely test structural support levels. Institutional positioning ahead of the FOMC minutes is keeping USD demand firm.

Treasury yields

US 10-year Treasury yields have ticked higher toward 4.25%, increasing the opportunity cost of holding Gold. This yield pressure aligns with the overnight weakness in XAUUSD.

Geopolitical factors

Geopolitical risk premium has marginally eased over the last 24 hours, prompting some unwinding of defensive Gold positions. However, underlying structural demand prevents a complete breakdown.

Technical outlook

  • On the Daily chart, a bearish rejection candle is forming, testing the 20-day exponential moving average.
  • On the H4 chart, price action has broken below the minor ascending channel, confirming intraday bearish control.
  • On the M15 chart, the market is printing lower highs and lower lows, consolidating near the session low of 4,124.00.

Trade invalidation

A sustained H1 candle close above 4,155.00 invalidates the bearish bias and signals a potential squeeze back to 4,162.00.

Conclusion

Today's plan is to monitor rejections near the 4,143.40 pivot for short scalping opportunities, aiming for 4,124.00. Should support at 4,115.50 be reached, we will look for reactive intraday longs with tight risk control. Strict risk management must be observed ahead of the high-impact US economic data and FOMC minutes.
